OUR HISTORY.
It all began in 1958 in Wichita, Kansas, when brothers Dan and Frank Carney borrowed $600 from their mother to open the world's first Pizza Hut restaurant. From our modest beginnings, we’ve grown to become the largest pizza company in the world. And since 1958, we’ve been spinning small-town passion and big-minded innovation into a globe-trotting powerhouse of flavour.
It was the beginning of the world's most famous pizza brand, and in 1991, that fantastic pizza arrived in Cyprus, as the first franchise food chain. We take pride of presenting first into Cyprus the food delivery service in 1993 and the first Call Center Unit along with the first national 7digits number.
We are the home of the Original Signature Pan, the Original Stuffed Crust (which we hold the title of the first Pizza Hut launching the Stuffed Crust pizza), the hand-crafted San Franscisco and the American Thin. We first introduced Wingstreet in Europe, and in 2023 launched first the Pasta Brava, expanding our flavorful menu.
Today we have 32 restaurants and we are leading the Cyprus market for over 33 years now, together with our 600 team members and 100 management contributors. Every year we serve more than 600,000 pizzas, using the same quality ingredients from local suppliers, fast service and always with a smile, every time.

And we don’t just clock in. Not when we can also become our best, make friends, and have fun while we’re at it. We’re the pizza company that lives life unboxed.
We’re not for people who want to blend in: pushing boundaries is part of our heritage. Whether it’s the original Stuffed Crust or putting a pizza in outer space, we never stop driving ourselves to deliver the most delicious innovations and hot pizzas in the industry– anywhere you want to enjoy it.

With more than 55 years of experience under our belts, we understand how to best serve our customers through tried-and-true service principles. Instead of following trends, we set them. We create food we’re proud to serve and deliver it fast, with a smile.
We’re the people who first delivered pizza to the White House. We put a pizza in outer space. We took social media by storm. Our ordering app was featured in an iPhone commercial. Pizza Hut stands for bold innovation.
And yes, we’re pizza people. But we’re also human people; we lead with our hearts, we believe in giving back to the global community. The BOOK IT! Program encourages 14 million students in more than 35,000 elementary schools in the US each year to reach a reading goal set by their teachers. In 2014, Pizza Hut restaurants around the world partnered with the World Food Programme to raise more than $3.8 million and provided more than 15 million meals to children in need. And, in 2015, we helped 150 million people around the world to unlock their potential through literacy and reading.
Every year in Cyprus, more than €40,000 is donated to local charities, organizations, schools, and charity events in order to help and give back to the people who have supported us over the years.
We are just as proud of our work as we are of our food. Pizza Hut Cyprus has received numerous awards, both locally and globally, including being named the Best Pizza Hut in Europe for two consecutive years (2022 & 2023), Franchisee of the Year 2023, Quality and Assurance recognition for 2023, and numerous other individual and group recognitions.
